Joel Glasgow
Earlier this month (Oct. 10), marked four years since we lost one of the great characters and souls in McCalls’ 70+ years of existence: the Great Joel Glasgow.
One of the philosophies we try to adhere to is this: ES, EM, ED. Every Second, Every Minute, Every Day we should live life to its fullest. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. It’s a perspective that behooves all of us to follow — not just the precious lives at McCall’s.
On the morning of Oct. 10, 2021, Joel woke and wanted cereal. Fresh out of milk in his cottage, he traipsed next door to get a carton. On his way back, he had an medical episode. We don’t know why. But God called him home.
It’s not for us to understand the “why?” Rather, we remind ourselves to focus on the blessing we received for ever having crossed paths with Joel. He was one-of-a-kind…from his daily “firings” of staff to his favorite “Not Today Satan!” t-shirt, Joel brought an energy, innocence and personality to every life he touched.
His memory is, and will remain, part of the McCall’s legacy.
